This is a walk through on how to add a Collection and a virtual machine (VM) to an existing RDS deployment

  1. Create you VM inside Hyper-V. Patch it, set it up, join it to the domain
  2. Add the VM to your MS Failover Cluster (this can be done with the VM powered on)
  3. Once completed, you will need to power off the VM in order to add it to your RDS system
  4. Log into your RDS server, launch the Remote Desktop Services feature from Server Manager
  5. Drill into Collections. On the far right choose the Tasks > Create Virtual Desktop Collection
  6. Click Next
  7. Give your Collection a name
  8. Click Next
  9. Choose Pooled Virtual Desktop collection
  10. Deselect Automatically create
  11. Click Next
  12. Choose the VM to add by moving it from the left to right window pane
  13. Click Next
  14. Add the Users/groups from AD that should have access to this Collection
  15. Click Next
  16. Deselect the user profiles option
